“Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob. Selah” Psalms 24:6
Prayer is one of our four pillars because prayer is central to all that we do. We believe that prayer and mission go hand in hand, all mission should flow out from a foundation of prayer. At the heart of our prayer gatherings is that they would be an expression of unity; we gather because we share a heart for our city and our nation. We long to see God move in our neighbourhoods, communities, towns and cities and one of the most significant partnerships we have is to partner with God in prayer for the renewal and restoration of our world.
Even though we represent many different denominations and streams of church we believe it is significant when we lay our differences aside and together we pray, ‘Lord let your Kingdom come on earth, in Ireland, as it is in heaven.’
We gather together, from churches across the city, to pray 3-4 times a year. At our gatherings we worship together and take the time to listen to stories of hear how God is moving throughout the country, stories of hope or the places where we long to see God move. We pray in a variety of different and creative ways. This involves praying out loud and in silence, praying for one another and with one another. We celebrate and give thanks but we also lament and cry out to God for his Spirit to be poured out on a broken and hurting world. Our hope is that however you pray you will feel welcome and at home with us.
At Praxis we hope that prayer would be more than a couple of times a year event but become central to the life of your church or ministry. 24-7 prayer, as a partner of Praxis, has lots of great resources to help you explore prayer more within your own churches and communities.
